The first thing you want to do is to turn on the comment privacy feature on your own Yuwie profile. So go to your control panel by clicking the [Control Panel] link in the top navigation tool bar. Once in your control panel, in the left hand side navigation menu find the [Account Settings] link and click it. About halfway down the page in the middle, you’ll find the “Who can leave you comments?” drop down menu. Click on the arrow and select, [Only Friends]. Now scroll down to the bottom of the page and click [Save Changes]. This does exactly what is says. Only people in your friend section can send you comments. This is very important, because if you don’t, anyone can leave spammy comments on your profile page. And with minimal effort, they can link these comments to a spammy or offensive website.
The next thing you need to do is find and click the [Friends] link in the left hand navigation menu. This will bring you to a page that has all of your friends. On the right hand side there will be a [Sort by:] drop down menu. Click the arrow and select [Online Friends]. Once that page opens, go ahead and click on the first picture. When the next page open up, you’ll have the option to click on [Send Message], [Leave Comment], [Hit, Pinch, or Poke], [Add to Top Friends], [Remove Friend], [Block User], [Ignore User], [View Profile]. I suggest either clicking the friends picture or their name. This will open their profile. You’ll want to do this to make sure you and your friend earn a page view.
Once their Yuwie profile opens up, scroll down to the comment section. Here you’ll be able to read the comments that were left by some of their other friends. Somewhere near the top of their profile is a link that reads [Leave a Comment]. Go ahead and click on [Leave a Comment]. The next page that opens is the “Send a Comment” page. Go ahead and type, “I hope you are having a great day!” in the comment box and sign your name underneath it. Click on the [Preview Comment] button. The next page is the “Comment Preview” page. Take a look to make sure everything looks good. If you like it, go ahead and click the [Leave Comment] button.
The next page will say one of two things. What you want to see is, “Success! Your comment has been sent.” Now there will either be a 10 minute delay while your comment is processed by Yuwie, or it will have to await approval of your friend. If you get anything else, such as Database Error or OLE something or another, it didn’t go through. At this point go ahead and repeat the steps to leave a message.
