One of the most appealing things about Yuwie is the social networking aspect. More directly, meeting new people, making friends with the new people you have met, and the rewards inherent in having friends from all around the world and in all walks of life. To follow along, words in these brackets [link] are links that you need to click on to get to where you need to be to follow along. Let's get started finding new friends.
Navigate to the homepage by typing in www.yuwie.com and clicking [SIGN IN] at the top navigation menu. Aftter logging in, click the [skip] button on the following advertisement. You'll arive at your Yuwie Control Panel page. At the top navigation menu click on the [BROWSE] link. The next page that opens is the "Browse Members" page. This page has a lot of drop down selection boxes. So, to start making friends right away, go about 1/3 the way down the page and find the box that says, "Only show online users". Select the [Yes] radio button. The next step in adding a new Yuwie friend is clicking the [UPDATE] button next to the "Only show online users" box. After the page reloads, click on the first member picture on the page.
After clicking on that members picture, go ahead and find thir picutre on the right hand side. Under their picture you see the "Users options" area. In that are there should be a button that says [Add as friend]. Go ahead and click on the [Add as friend] button. The next page that loads is the "Add a friend" page. About 1/3 the way down the page is the "Short Message" text entry box. Click in the text box and write a short message. The standard message I use is "Hi". Under the short message you have just typed are two buttons. Go ahead and click the [Yes] button.
The next page that loads will say "Success - A friend request has been sent to the member". That page expires in about 15 seconds, and you will automatically be forwarded on to "Your sent friend requests" page. This page will show all of your pending friend requests. Now I will show you how to get back to this page once you have left the page. At the top navigation menu, click on the [Control Panel] link. Once in your control panel, click on the [Friends] link in the navigation menu on the left side of the page. This will bring you to the "Your Friends" page. About 1/3 the way down the page you see the [My Pending Requests] link. Click on the [My Pending Requests] link. Now you are back at the "Your Sent Friend Requests". On this page you'll see a list of pending friend requests. If you decide you no longer want to send a friend request to someone, click on the [Delete] button next. A pop-up window will give you the options of [OK] or [Cancel]. Click the [OK] button and the "Your Sent Friend Requests" page will reload.
Once someone accepts your friend request, you'll get a, "You have new messages" alert in your control panel. Click on the [You have new messages] link in the middle of the control panel page. This will open the YUWIE Mail Inbox. Click on the [You have a new friend!] link. This will open the Yuwie Mail message. The message will have the member's picture embeded into it. Below their picture the message will say, " The above use has accepted your friend request." At his point you have two options. Option one, you go about doing what ever you want to do on Yuwie. Option two, the one that I recommend, is clicking on your new friends picture. Once their profile opens up, click on the [Leave a comment] link and leave a comment.
